Dr. Derakshan started his initial training in medicine and dentistry in Iran from 1972-1976. He earned his specialty diploma in periodontics from Dalhousie University, Nova Scotia in 1984.
Dr. Derakshan uses both non-surgical and surgical approaches to help his patients treat periodontal disease and retain their teeth for as long as possible. He enjoys different aspects of periodontal treatment, including soft tissue grafting and implants.
